TRAIN HOME 1995.A Poem by Terry CollettA WOMAN GOING HOME BY TRAIN AFTER A DAY AT THE OFFICE STARED AT BY A MAN THINKING OF HER FEMALE LOVER IN 1995Geraldine was rocked by the movement of the train back home again work done the office busier than ever but she thinking of Holly back at home preparing dinner some French cuisine recalled undressing her the night before the whispered words kissing her neck arms about her kiss kiss lips on shoulders the man in the train sitting opposite stares at her his dark eyes sucking her into his secret dreams nothing or no one is what they or it seems Holly had said his lips tongued his eyes looked away shyly carrying her off in his dark pupils like dark pits a station rushed by the window soon to be home undress before dinner shower and Holly saying shall I wash your back? the slow sway of the train as it started off again along the track the man stared again eyeing her stealthily like some thief in the night the men in the office pass her unaware she has a female lover unaware what they do or why and how the office manager sat at his desk absorbed by his work on his large brown desk a photo of his wife and family sit smug and away until the end of day Holly lay there that morning naked with the morning sun licking her skin Geraldine recalled gazing at the man eyeing her deeply and Holly's pubes whispering for more play she smiled remembering the train slowed for the next stop she got ready to go stood towering over the man who stared and she glared. © 2015 Terry Collett |
