ART WITH HEART

ART WITH HEART

A Poem by Terry Collett
"

A MAN AND HIS WORK COLLEAGUE AND LOVER IN AN ART SHOP IN 1972

"

We sell art
in the shop
Abela

has the knack
and beauty
to sell art

to any
philistine
who comes in

or's dragged in
by his wife
or girlfriend

I watch her
as she sells
some art piece

to some guy
middle-aged
greying hair

who's taken
by her talk
and that smile

and those eyes
and I know
she could sell

ice cubes to
Eskimos
I study

her figure
how she stands
the gesture

of her hands
her cute butt
her fine hair

and I wish
it was now
our bedtime

so that we
can create
a different

kind of art
a mixture
of hot sex

but with heart.
