BY THE SEA 1970A Poem by Terry CollettA BOY AND GIRL AT A BASE CAMP NEAR TANGIERS IN 1970Just outside of Tangiers Miriam and I sit at a bar at base camp sipping Coke chewing on French bread sandwiches she's dressed in a white blouse and red shorts and sandals her toenails are painted a deep red who are you sharing with in the tent? she asks me I'm with Bill he's ok a good laugh I reply who's with you? the plump girl she's ok but I wish it was you she replies I guess she wouldn't want you coming on to her I don't know I hope not Miriam says to me she giggles in her Coke bubbles come some old guy an Arab plays guitar by the wall there's a smell of hashish and bodies I try not let my mind imagine Miriam and the plump dame having any form of hot sex but I did remember Miriam having sex on the beach (some sand dune) with young me listening to the sound of her moans and deep swells of the sea. © 2015 Terry Collett |
