Me standing there, beard and untidy hair, Chan on the sea saw to my right; Dani on my left, the eldest of the tribe, facing forward, eyeing the camera's eye with a hesitant smile; and Ole in front of me, facing head on the camera's gaze, expressing a coolness of his later days; and to his right, Nat the youngest back then, the shyest smile, fingers about to enter to hold the smile in place; Summer, 1988, I think, the date. © 2015 Terry Collett |
