![]() PRETENDING 1955A Poem by Terry Collett![]() A BOY AND GIRL IN LONDON IN 1955![]() ![]() I'm 7 a young kid and see her young Helen plaited hair thin wired spectacles her large eyes deep staring I show her the toy gun lifting it from the dark brown holster is it real? she asks me not really only if you pretend I tell her her lips form an oval o I see and she gives the toy gun back to me she shows me her baby in a pram is it real? I ask her not really only if I pretend she replies I don't ask to hold it just in case it lets wee (pretending) over me. © 2015 Terry CollettAuthor's Note
