WITNESS.

WITNESS.

A Poem by Terry Collett
"

AN UNUSUAL SIGHT SEEN FROM AN OFFICE WINDOW

"

I witnessed
some strange

behaviour today
in North Street:

some bloke
crossed at

the pedestrian crossing,
and as soon

as he reached
the other side,

he pushed
the button

to cross back again;
he repeated this

a further three times.
No idea

what the hell
he was doing,

but it's fun
to speculate.

(Maybe) he
was carrying out

a social experiment
or just

pissing off motorists.
At one point

he tried
to walk away

from the lights,
but he couldn't.
