THE PRINCESS STALL.

THE PRINCESS STALL.

A Poem by Terry Collett
"

MUSING ON A FRIEND'S MARKET STALL

"

My friend
(let's refer to her
as "The Princess")
is setting up

a jewellery stall
in town tomorrow.
Why not go down
& have a butchers

(I thought),
where else
can you see
Royalty

wearing
fingerless gloves?
She seemed
quite committed

when I spoke
to her earlier.
We both had
to be up

at a similar time
when we ran
the creative writing
workshops

in Steyning Library
last year,
so I know
she can do it.
