Elegy

Elegy

A Poem by T.a Walling

Pinpoint the pen.

An immaculate plan sets forth.

Riding on the broken back of digested lore,

And phantoms of old family secrets.

An imprint stamped on the innocence of my flesh.

Go away old man with crippled hands,

You loom to close.

Unwelcomed whimsical terror

Incites my throne.

And all around the water people shout, retreat!

The forest holds the dreams of now

And a path that twists around that house,

Where I know not the occupant.

I remember that car that took me,

For a chocolate bar.

And you all searched for me,

I didn't understand.

I let you make a world by mine,

And yours was filled with carnage.

I left that magical barrier made of bubbles.

Thankfully my world was only slightly singed.

And to the four of you.

Forgive me.
