Sunbeam Purple World of Quiet

Sunbeam Purple World of Quiet

A Poem by T.a Walling

An elegy to yesteryear,

When the curiosity turns to fear.

Accumulate everything-

Bottle up that hard pressed tear.

A search goes on for the ideal,

Up on the pedestal, how does it feel?

Not ideal when you tumble and fall.

Knowledge is fruit, but you're better off small.

What was once a brilliant dream,

Has been exposed! Its all a scheme.

I will retreat into my world

Where whimsy reigns supreme.

i love this introspective whimsy rationale because i have often dwelled there myself
your rhyme scheme is fun and effective and the pros and cons of the extremes is deliciously illustrated here. very cleverly done!
