Endless SearchA Poem by NyxSo many of us get caught up in the destination, rather than the adventure.
I was always afraid of the looming threat
Of death upon us, finality of debt The price we pay for a life of lust Consuming more, never having enough Wandering through the deserts of hope We scavenge and search, me and my troupe No end in sight, dismay, we share But we cannot live in a world of despair So we search and we look for anything in sight To calm our perplexion, stimulate our fright We can’t survive in an empty world Where death marks the end, a story untold So we scribble and scribble, pages so wet Fresh with the ink Of our wishes never met © 2019 Nyx |
