Wanderer

Wanderer

A Poem by Terrestrial.42
"

You always hear about the man who went off in search of adventure and never came home... I wondered what it'd be like if those roles were reversed.

"

Wanderer

I tried to tell her not to go,
To stay at home with me,
But out into the world aglow
She wanted to roam free.

Away she went with plans to learn
Of life this side of Styx.
I cried and wished her safe return,
And sent her with a kiss.

Alas, I've waited half a year
To meet my love once more,
And though she's strong I often fear
I'll see her nevermore.

But until my heart’s homecoming,
I'll stay and watch the time
And hope that all my shortcomings
Won’t stray her soul sublime.

This is an amazing poem. The thing that I think you did the best on was the rhythm. The entire poem flowed from line to line and word to word. Again amazing job.

Beautifully written. It seems like everything you write is nearly perfect!
This piece kept me hooked until the end, which is a very good thing in any form of writing :]
