Unsafe

Unsafe

A Poem by Terra Bendite

Fangs bearing

claws sharp as knives

fur as black as night

prowling the area for food

or an enemy to fight

off the search, the wolf went back to the den

three pups lay asleep

all innocent

sniffing the air

a new scent appeared

HUMAN!

tracking the smell

hearing the footsteps of the unwary human

sneaking around, trying to find an advantage point

hiding in a bush, the human walks closer

and closer

this was the chance to strike

claws lashing, biting at flesh

until

BANG!

The wolf lay on the ground

blood-soaked

the human walks closer

he sees what seems like a monster

until he heard whimpers

he followed the cries

standing in front of the den

he looks inside to find the three pups staring at him
