Indigo Paint

Indigo Paint

A Poem by Rebecca

someone sew me up with a breath of stale eyes,
the color of the autumn sky, tearing me into slivers
dangling from carmine lips, so
degrading, disgusting, tastes like lust
needlepoint the words i need you
on the inside of my ribs, brand me with your
       memory
nous le goût de la luxure et des contusions
bound with lace ripped from my nightgown,
i chain your desires down to earth, keep me
from looking up and seeing all the time we have to wait
je ne veux pas attendre plus longtemps
[wasted days staring at the back of your hand]
but oh, what beautiful things we'll be
when we marry, when we marry
someone sew me up with a breath of stale eyes,
the color of our world, tear me into slivers
