Loneliness or Love

This is a poem I wrote for a woman that I thought I loved. We had a thing and then she just left, so now it's all about the loneliness aspect. She didn't say whether or not she liked it.

Loneliness or Love

Searching my soul for answers 7

To convince my heart to beat. 7

I decided to be patient, 8

And through the door you appeared �" 8

My heart’s renewed vigor: 6

But I had to ask myself, 7

Is this loneliness or love. 7

 

The only things on my mind 7

Are God, conspiracies, my future-- 9

and you; but all I have left 7

are digital bits of my muse 8

and bygone now bite marks. 7

But I have to ask myself, 7

Is this loneliness or love? 7

 

Hobbies and homework cannot distract 9

my mind from your sweet scent 6

nor your contagious laughter. 7

You’re like a lingering fragment 8

Of a dream I can’t quite remember. 8

Obsessively playing it 7

Until its become memory, 8

But I have to ask myself, 7

Is this loneliness or love? 7

 

And although our spatial planes 7

Have only just converged, 7

It feels so familiar: 7

Instead of a stranger 6

you are a past-life lover. 7

And I have to ask myself, 7

Is this loneliness or love? 7
