My Tiny ShellA Poem by Terinee DozierIt's scary out there.Still waves and a waking sunlight Tell me not of brushing, holy fire Dainty covers and steel walls Shield my cotton body, to which evil tires Their words to encourage Past and bear Only shrink me down further As pain carries wind by its hair A forcing of anxiety Crackles within the heart A broken mirror in wine Never as sweet as a tart Any efforts to save me Sing like shouts in a sea With no clear direction Thus, the shark swallows thee To give up so soon Would be a guilty pleasure So, I stay under the covers Safe within my shelter © 2024 Terinee DozierReviews
