Fear Inside

A poem

Never underestimate the power of the mind 
It's crafty and shifty and will rob you blind 

The values you once diligently obsessed to possess 
Will slowly unravel when you think you've progressed 

The heart you choked down to keep under control 
Will rob your eyes of their memory and take you whole 

The fear you hide in the inside of your sleeve will expose 
All the hideous images of a world you eagerly disclose 

Confidence is key and self affliction is of no choice 
When the key is broken and the self has no voice
