Still All Alone

Still All Alone

A Poem by Teresa Bulger
"

A poem

"
Shaky dreams have kept me alive inside
Moments make for history, so then I lied
Remember you asked me if I actually cared
Honesty was betrayal; its now gone, so beware

When the truth is a big lie from the start
How am I to know you're not just being smart
We faked feelings of love for a definite reason
In preparation for a totally different season

We fought over silly nothings blown way out of proportion
There was no good guy in the pattern of our distortion
I stubbornly hallucinated your suggested perfection
But when you turned on me, it was you with the rejection

I knew we'd never wind up together in the very end
You know as well as I we wouldn't ever mend
What is morosely damaged, set forever in stone
You're now nothing but a memory, still all alone
