Everything To Gain

Everything To Gain

A Poem by Teresa Bulger
"

It's a poem

"
Your smile means nothing when your heart is lacking
'Sorry' is meaningless when you're silently attacking
Forgiveness lurks in my head, but I will never forget
I can shove this anger down, but where do I put my regret?

Your heart is an empty hole, full of excuses, self pity, and sin
A shadow of darkness fights for my dignity, but I won't let it win
You're crying about all you have loved and lost, and fought for
I'm calling out your lies one by one as you're running for the door

You tried to strike me down, and crush my spirit daily
But I'm free now, and I'm the only one who can fail me
Open your eyes to your river of worthless tears and pain
I have nothing more to say to you, and everything to gain
