Grapefruit

Grapefruit

A Poem by Teresa Powell
"

This poem was a creative writing exercise that I did while sitting outside in the sun today.

"
 So big plump and round
 Dimples all around
 Sweet and tangy
 Sections big and bold
 Take a bite
 It squirts like a watergun
 Break the skin
 Peel so citrusy
 The smell brings forth
 Strong fragrant scent
 Peeling back the skin
 Revealing the juicy meat within
Taking that bite so suculent and tart
 With every bite
I wish for the tropic air
 The color of salmon
 If too ripe
You could squeeze and squash it
 Through your hand

I could almost taste the grapefruit as I read your words! You touch on all the senses with your imagery. Very well written. Lydi**

Thank you! I was actually sitting outside eating it while I was writing!
