Let's Rollback Time

Let's Rollback Time

A Poem by Silence
"

A poem about my true love, which I lost

"

I sat down today and grabbed my old pocket watch off the mantelpiece

It was a gift from me to you,

It was a gift, which was returned

I frowned and cleaned its face, which had gathered dust from over the years

I turned the head, and listened to the eerie ticks as they went by

I closed my eyes while I did so, and for a moment, I saw you

I saw you smile, something that I haven’t for many years

I saw you laugh, at the many jokes that we had shared

I saw you kiss me, and felt the electric touch of your body

I saw our love, something so pure and free.

Very slowly the head came to a stop, and with it, the stops to my tears

I smiled and cried, for a second, I was happy again

For a second, we had rolled back time

A poem about my true love, which I lost - I think that's the catch. This makes the poem so real, emotional and at some part, sad too.

I think that is the game of memories, especially of someone whom we shared the most beautiful part of life. As FallingDewdrops said, we don't know to be happy aboutt he past, or cry about the present. Memeories of loved ones have a strange effect on us. I hope every time you roll the time, it leaves a smile on your face :) Take care :)

very touching poem yoi wrote..it always hurt to remember the happy time spent with someone..
some near to our heart.. who gave so much to remember but... at a moment asked to forget.. this is the moment..
we never get to know what to do...
to be happy or to cry..
cry because its killing us..and happy because u going to give something to that someone....

I think this is a beautiful write, rich in sentiment and emotion. The use of a pocketwatch works well for remembering the past. For me, many things trigger memories and you describe the reminisce perfectly as the timepiece ticks once again bringing memories back to life. Justine
