Lady

Lady

A Poem by Tepo

the lady floated with the lamp
Attended to a jaundiced tramp
He passed away despite her stamp
She fell Upon her knees

She stumbled on in laddered tights
The nip that comes from working nights
A mountain view and fear of heights
She fell upon her knees

With love She had a rocky ride
Her so called beau is super snide
Another dent in fading pride
She fell upon her knees

A star that twinkles lost full beam
A nap replaced her wildest dream
A ninja of the silent scream
She fell upon her knees

The lady found some space to think
A brand new notepad pleads for ink
Discarding every fear and kink
She rose up from her knees

Your well-crafted journey shows me your narrator finally learning that it's better to search for love when not on one's knees. I would never beg someone if clearly shown that he/she is long gone in his/her heart. Yet I read many love & heartache poems with the lovelorn down on their knees over a rejection situation. I believe that, when one stands upright, going forth to pursue a productive life, love will be attracted to this organic positive momentum (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

I like how at the end the lady rose up from her knees instead of falling. It shows that even though she lost someone she could still get up be be strong again.
