Like Sylvia Plath

Like Sylvia Plath

A Poem by Ted

You should die like Sylvia Plath

Young and beautiful

You should die walking on the beach bare foot

But baby, you want to die an old hag

You’re searching your purse

For regrets and pillow talk

From the dead last night

That purse is your trap

You can't even find yourself in there

I say, take your cyanide and die young

And pretty like Sylvia Plath
Die like a good soldier

Never to betray your country

So, My darling farewell..

Here's a letter from the president.

The poet as patriot or traitor. Your country or humanity. What a choice?
