Insomnia

I should write at 1:30am more often. New favorite.

I lay awake

Finding no comfort in blankets and pillows

Racing thoughts provide no relief

To my weary body

Exhausted from tossing and turning

 

I close my eyes

Praying for sleep

Willing to risk any nightmare

For a chance to be with you

In my dreams

 

Hoping it's not the only way
