Aging with Ink

Aging with Ink

A Poem by Alexander Loux
"

A poem written for class that has to do with growing up. Based on my personal views of growing older and how I've been influenced by books and writing.

"
Fleeing from the harsh words of others
Running to the words of paper and ink instead
loosing my self in the adventures of writers
Wishing for their life instead of my own.

Words of kindness received in this day
Enjoying this life but still reading old tomes
Writing life's changes in books of my own
Loosing my fears in preparing for more.

Enjoying the thoughts of the days of tomorrow
Preparing to study in the lands of old lore
Joy of this life is what fuels my sharp pen
These are the hopes for the days of tomorrow.
