Chapter 10: Death's Head

Chapter 10: Death's Head

A Chapter by Tenjho666

“Are we there yeeet?”

“ARE WE THERE YEEET?”

“Guuuys, are we there yeet?”

“NO!” Was the unanimous shout from the trio, as Reila Tsukino lagged behind them, carrying her pack languidly. She sighed, and nodded sheepishly. Adam turned back to the path ahead " the sun was really beating down on them today. The girls groaned, and the guys moaned, but nothing would change.

A few hours earlier, they'd left Salathiel and the Free Hawks behind, with a fond farewell from the Resistance group, and a course set for the next town. That had been the plan, until they found out Guardians were searching every city and town for their faces. Not good. So they had to change course, and made headway to Death's Head, the bandit capital of the country, somewhere where they were sure that absolutely no Guardians would go.

So, after long hours of trekking through desert, under the scorchin sun, they found the small oasis-town. And for once, they were right! When they reached Death's Head, the first thing they looked for was Guardians " and not one could be found. Adam just about jumped for joy at this news, but managed to maintain some sort of composure, before being confronted by some scary looking bandits, who took one long, hard stare at the four, before turning away with a grin, and a small whisper of,

“Bloody kids, think they can survive here...” Adam blinked, and simply turned back to the rest of the group with a grin.

“Well, we're safe from the Guardians now.” Adam nodded, but Reila wasn't convinced.

“We're safe from the Guardians, but what about these buggers around us?” She pointed to one or two of the men around them, who were eyeing the teenage girls up with perverted grins on their faces " 'Tasha wanted to wipe that grin off those mugs so badly. Adam sighed, and took a look at the man that were beginning to surround them.

“We need... to find some place to stay. I'll check for an Inn with lockable doors...” He turned away, motioning for 'Tasha to follow. If they stayed in pairs, they'd be able to move faster... Dai and Reila should be able to look after themselves just fine...

Meanwhile, in another city...

Bare feet slapped along the ground, while the dark-haired boy kept moving as quickly as he could through the darkened streets. He grimaced, and started to move faster, dodging roadblocks, jumping over cars and sliding under signs, all the while being chased by three or four Guardians, shouting out in rage. He'd managed to get away from them for a while now, and the group were pissed. One of them reached up to his ear when a crackle sounded.

“Where is my teenager?”

“Sorry, Mr Diederich! We're getting to him as you speak!”

“Then why are you still talking?! Move your arse!” The Guardian sighed, and started hot-footing it in the direction that the kid had headed off in. He grunted as he climbed over the raiilings, and skirted around vehicles that seemed to do nothing but gather dust and get in his way. Where was that kid...? His eyes narrowed, and suddenly lit up in some perverted sort of glee, as he recognised a shape laying on the ground, having just been hit and knocked over by a car. He grinned, and slowed his pace, walking over towards the figure and picking it up by the shirt. He checked the pulse " good, he was still alive.

With that, the Guardian histed the boy over his shoulder, and headed towards the pre-designated extraction point. He had a helicopter to catch, Capital was his destination. His finger went up to his ear, and he spoke, loudly and clearly.

“Sir, we have the package. We'll be in Capital within the hour.” A laugh was all that could be heard from the other side, before the line went dead. The Guardian simply grimaced in his seat. Endavi Diederich, President of TSC, was happy. Never a good thing in this line of work. Never.

Well, they'd found a place to stay " that was all set up. It even had security! Even better! Now they just needed something to eat besides what was in their bags, Gods knew that they could use soemthing other than bread and water. The four walked through the centre of Death's Head, watching people go about their daily, er, 'business', and making sure to avoid the particularly rougher-looking ones. Adam sighed, before turning back to his troop.

“Any ideas? I'm game for something, throw me a bone.” Dai, Reila and 'Tasha all shook their heads in unison, and spoke in perfect harmony.

“Sorry, Adam. You're leader, you choose.” Adam sighed " he hated making decisions for people, it frustrated him just that little bit. He rolled his eyes, before pointing to a small cafe, one that actually looked civilised...

The four walked over to the cafe, and set foot inside. As it turns out, appearances can be deceiving. Very deceiving. As soon as the four teenagers entered the cafe, they were confronted by men with guns. Very, very big guns. Adam's eyes widened, and he prepared to fight back, ready to take down anyone who got in his way. That was, until, their ringleader showed up and pointed a shotgun at his face. Adam nodded hurriedly, and stepped back with the rest of the group.

We're screwed. Oh so f*****g screwed. Yeah, count on Dai to lighten the situation.
