Chapter 3: Natasha ChironA Chapter by Tenjho666“EEEEEEEEK!” Adam sat back and blinked, looking up at the jet-black hair that hung in front of him. Oh... s**t. He looked down slightly, yep. She was in a towel, and nothing else... He backed away slowly, not taking his eyes off of the girl's face " he didn't want to get tempted in any way, shape or form... “Heh... Hey, 'Tasha.” He smiled and laughed nervously. The girl's eyes narrowed, and she leant down at the grey-haired boy and smiled sweetly, whispering into his ear. “Do you have any business with me right now?” Adam blushed, and shook his head hurriedly. She smiled wider. “Good. Now then, GET OUT OF MY BATHROOM! PERVERT!” She brought her hand up in a massive swing, and slapped him straight across the face, sneding him flying. He slid across the ground, rubbed his face and stood back up, bright red. He turned around, and sheepishly left the room, realising just then where he was. He looked down the hall, pretty sure he wasn't dreaming. No, he wasn't. He was at the House of Chiron " and he had no idea how the f**k he'd gotten here. Wait... what had his mum told him? To focus on 'Tasha? He blinked, and stood in the middle of the hall, wondering what theHELL what was going on... He walked down the hall and into the lounge, seeing 'Tasha's mother standing there. He blinked. She blinked. And then she sat down, and began to cry. His mouth opened slightly, and he reached out a hand to her, trying to console her. Through choked sobs, she pushed his hand away, shaking her head. “I... don't know why I'm crying. I mean, you should be instead, your mother just died.” Adam blinked, and sat down with his mouth wide open. She... died? What the hell? He'd just seen her... Hadn't he? NO! He stood back up suddenly, eyes full of rage. “How can that be? I only just saw her. And now you're telling me she DIED?! WHAT THE F**K! DON'T BULLSHIT ME!” For about five minutes, Adam hurled abuse at the woman, not understanding what was going on, just venting. She couldn't have been dead! There was no way! “Adam...” He suddenly stopped, and looked up at Arya. No, she didn't say anything. He turned around, and noticed the girl standing behind him. It seemed that 'Tasha had finally gotten dressed. He blushed slightly, and sat back down, silenced by the appearance of the girl. “I'm... sorry. I'm so sorry!” She ran straight for him, and threw her arms around him, trying her best to console him. “No, there's no way...” Another hand touched his shoulder lightly. He turned back to see Arya staring at him, tears wiped away, seriousness abound within the golden-brown eyes. “It's time. Both of you need to hear this.” Adam grew silent, and Natasha sat next to him, pulling out another chair. Adam spoke first, cutting off Arya from her tracks. “How did you know Mum was dead?” Arya looked towards the ground. “I said you needed to hear this, didn't I? So listen. You are both... special. I knew that Maranda was dead when Adam came into my house without coming in through the front door. Instead, he appeared next to 'Tasha, didn't you?” They both blushed at this, and Arya continued on. “What did she ask you to do, Adam?” The boy looked sheepishly at the woman, and sighed softly. “She asked me... to focus on something that 'resonated' out of 'Tasha's heart. And then I appeared here.” Arya smiled. “What you had just experienced was Attunation. It's an ability that your father was researching at TSC when he died.” Adam blinked, but said nothing. “It allows you to travel from place-to-place, without taking conventional routes. But there's a hitch. You must know what to look for, and what to travel to. The human heart emits a constant signal, unique to the individual. It happens with everyone, but only the Ten, the ten teenagers capable to Attunation, have a strong enough Resonance to be felt, and Attuned to.” Adam blinked again. “Waitasec, you're saying that when I... 'Attune', I can travel to 'Tasha's side whenever I want?” The boy grinned, before a sharp pain in his arm shook him back to his senses. 'Tasha removed her fist, putting it back by her side with a quiet growl of “Pervert...” He grinned again, before turning his attentions back to Arya. “Yes, that is basically what I'm saying. There's more to it than that, possibly something unique to the individual, but Aaron died before he could make it any further in his investigation.” A flicker of pain crossed Adam's face at the mention of his father, but he said nothing. 'Tasha noticed, looked worried, but said nothing. She was confused about this as well. A sudden scraping of a chair made her blink and step back slightly as Adam stood back up. “I don't believe you. I don't think I can.” “You really think that?” Adam was speechless. He didn't know what to think, or what to believe. He just wanted the truth. And maybe... Maybe this was it. He sighed, and walked over to the window, looking out over the citizens of Mu. They were as clueless to the greater powers as he was, but he could gain knowledge that put him above them. He turned back around and nodded. “Say I do believe you. What happens next?” The woman laughed softly, and tilted her head to the side. “You can't stay here, that's for sure. You and 'Tasha are going to have to gather the rest of the Ten. If you can do that, you might be able to stop TSC. That's why Aaron was killed. That's why TSC want you gone.” Another mention of his father. Adam grimaced slightly. Meanwhile, 'Tasha was standing nearby, thinking about everything. Strange, she did feel a Resonance, as her mother called it, from Adam's heart. But this Resonance seemed different to how it usually felt. It seemed more... anxious. Not as calm. A look of worry came onto her face, and she was about to go and ask Adam if everything was alright, before she was cut off by the sound of a loud bang, and a curse from Adam. Adam quickly turned to the door, suddenly aware that he was unable to make a disappearing act as quickly. Arya simply sighed, and opened a small hatch in the floor that Adam had never seen before. She smiled, and beckoned for them to go in. “Hurry.” She whispered. The two obeyed without question, and were in the cramped hiding place within seconds. Adam breathed a sigh of relief, before realising just how cramped the hiding place was. He blushed, but put all thoughts out of his head as two Guardians walked into the room. As the first one spoke, he recognised it as the voice of the Guardian who had come to his house earlier that day. He held onto his emotions as much as he could, and tried his best not to burst out of the hole and simply attack the sonuvabitch. “Sorry to bother you like this, ma'am. Is your daughter in?” Adam's eyes narrowed. They were after 'Tasha too? “Sorry, no. She's out, and will be out all day.” “Any idea where she might be?” “Nope, sorry. You know teenagers, always running around everywhere.” “No problem.” The footsteps started to recede, and the door closed. Adam assumed that they'd left, and started to push on the trapdoor. Arya sighed, and waited until she was sure they were away from the house, and opened the hatch. “Come on now, out we come.” Arya smiled, and picked up a remote. “Midday news should be on about now, right, Mum?” Arya nodded, and turned the TV set on. Adam blinked, but said nothing. If they wanted to watch the news, they were welcome to it. He was about to walk away when something piqued his interest. Adam turned back around, intrigued. Good Afternoon, citizens. Out top story today is quite an astonishing one. In a lightning election by the Governmental Commitee, TSC already has a new president! A photo flashed onto the screen, Arya flicked it over and expanded it. His face was ordinary enough, aside from the cauliflour ear. A pair of violet eyes adorned a pale, flawless face. The man's teeth were white and straight, and his jet-black hair was kept nicely trimmed, just above the ears. Adam whistled. He certainly looked more well-kept than that Muninsky guy, at any length. I'd like to present Endavi Diederich. Weird name. Starting today, he will be TSC's newest president to join the line of great leaders like Albert Muninsky and TSC's original president, In other news, another photo showed up on the screen and when Arya zoomed it in, Adam and 'Tasha gasped in unison. It was a photo of Adam. TSC Guardians are warning you to look out for this teenager. Adam Koboltz was last seen in Sect Mu, where he brutally murdered his own mother and escpaed from Guardian custody. It is also believed that this boy may have ties to the Free Birds, or this strange new organisation that has been heard of in this area. Adam's eyes opened wider, and he shouted out in rage. Before any more could come on, Arya switched the set off. Adam sat down, dumbstruck, looking at 'Tasha for support. “I... I...” The girl shook her head, and sat down next to Adam. “There's no need to speak. We just need to get out of here.” Adam nodded in agreement. If there were others like them, they had to find them before TSC did. It was imperative that they did this. They had to. © 2010 Tenjho666 |
