Shadows

The 2nd poem I ever wrote....

Here I stand all alone in the room full of darkness, nothing here to save my life trapped within this mortal plight.
Nowhere can I run to escape, from my shadowy destined fate.
Shadows cover my eyes, here I am running blind,

nowhere to go and no where to hide.
Looking for something that cant be found.
I scream out from my very soul looking for someone to free me,
But no one ever answers and no one frees me from this nightmare.

Here a horror that haunts me a thousand fold.
as if the shadows of my past have come alive,

events long dead come at me in surprise.
So here I stand in the black of night looking at my own reflection.
Fear lurking in my mind as I stare into my eyes,
I see shadows all around me contemplating lies.

As I breath the cold, stale air I wonder why.
But deep down inside my soul I know the answer that haunts me so.
What I see can not be there, what I know makes us all run in fear.

For how can the fear I know infected me so?
The fear I know is the fear of my mind will go.

Now I sit and cry waiting for the time,
When all the shadows will leave my side.
But now I know the reality of it all,
Now I see what really haunts.
I am my shadow I making it real
