Dreams of Reality

This one also won an award but it was so long ago, I don't remember what. Was inspired by that old philosophy quote about the man & the butterfly.

Everyone has a right to dream,
Drifting quietly on the nightly stream,
dreaming your desire for a different fate,
What will happen if we all should wake?

Into the dark night you slowly drift,
Reality and fantasy begin to shift,
Escaping into the magical void,
From the cold reality you can’t avoid.

Life is cruel to all that lives,
Dreams are the only escape you get,
so Truly we are free to dream,
is all we know what it seems?

Dreams & Reality slowly become a blur,
As our thoughts quickly begin to burn,
All we’ve seen was never a dream,
But a different reality only the mind can see.
