Wormwood is a plant with medicinal qualities, can be used I think for digestive disorders. It sounds from your lines that it needs handling with some care. Maybe some over partake of it? I am interested in how plants can be used to treat ailments. Your poem is nicely constructed and I would like to know more. Do you make medicine with it yourself?

As for your question, I have used quite a few different plants for medicinal properties. Wormwood, as you said, is fantastic for digestive issues, bloating, and cramps when used in smaller doses such as a lighter tea. Not to mention, taking it's roots will cure intestinal worms, hence the name.
As far as it goes beyond, Wormwood is also a key ingredient in the drink Absinthe, a green liquor with strong anise or licorice tastes, the green color coming from the plant itself. There are many myths surround the drink and what wormwood does to it, examples being hallucinations and disassociations. It had a ban on it for many years, which has been lifted now. Very delicate drink, choice among poets and painters.
I had to read the conversation between you & Chris to fully appreciate your message. I'm finding this is more of a session of learning, than enjoying poetry! So much to learn about so many things in life & I love it when a writer introduces something I've never heard of. You teach many new words, as well. I'm reminded that some state (Oregon?) just legalized psychogenic mushrooms . . . maybe people are ready to trip out as your poem describes! Thanks for educating me! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

My goal was to capture the plant itself, so thank you.
