What Winter May Bring

What Winter May Bring

A Poem by TempleOfNothing

Winter

The cold that burns like fire

Oh the emptiness

Of one without light

Yet the fullness of darkness

A solitude

To finally leave the chaotic world

And be at peace

Alone

This was short, but sweet and to the point. At first I thought it was going to be a sad poem because of the darkness, but you made me change my perspective a bit. Even though winter can be a little sad because its cold and dark, it is also a peaceful time for many. Great Job! I really enjoyed thinking about this.

I spent most of my life surrounded by people, along with noise & chaos & misunderstandings. Now I am in a secluded place of solitude & it's really peaceful not to have to deal with humans all the time. I love the way your poem seems to take a curve, starting to portray winter as bleak, but then turning toward the freedom sensations of peaceful endeavors (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Winter enforces a certain separateness--depopulating the streets and shortening the day.
Meaningful work that suddenly draws a welcomed curtain.

Great words, great review! Thank you.
Winter, the season of bleakness and cold, but it could also describe just as well how a person may feel on the inside when when their emotions aren't balanced. A dark and lonely feel I got when reading your lines.

a consummation foolishly to be wished, for across the wide arch of time this is our dance, our song, and winter is but a season, like a spice

These are the types of poems I love. Cryptic, emotionally dark, but wonderfully meaningful at the same time. Thanks for sharing this! This was very deep and honestly, one of the best poems I've seen in awhile. Keep up the nice work!
