The Slumbering Lilith

The Slumbering Lilith

A Poem by TempleOfNothing
"

Jai Maha Kali

"
Above in the night sky
Beyond where any star may shine
Past twisting roads left by the cunning Loki
In a land born from the Midnight Sun
Where black horizons lay rest the restless
She waits for us, in her never ending slumber
To call upon her name and awaken
The fires that ignite her wrath
To the North we call upon fire
To the South we call upon winter
From the West come merciless storms
From the East come plague and drought

Amazing use of words.
"To the North we call upon fire
To the South we call upon winter
From the West come merciless storms
From the East come plague and drought"
The above lines. Perfect. Made me wish to read more. Myth and tale is my favorite. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

Stark, lean imagery that makes for a dark and powerful portrayal.
More here, though, than mere depiction.

Love the imagery and the feeling of unavoidable doom lingering at all corners.

This is very beautiful! I love how dark the tone is and how you successfully depict this world of madness and darkness. That's something I could relate to. I also love the drawing! Great job, keep it up!

I love the imagery and the rhythm of this poem. But it is so dark, and your bio says "complete madness". The other poem also beautiful but darker- with being a part of the "Black Flame". My question is- why would you want to be my friend when we seem to be at opposite sides of the light spectrum? Perhaps you write from a place of emotion, or identification with the shadow. It is cold anger and power I feel - perhaps this is intentional in your expression. We seem to belong to vastly different circles- but poetry does not tell the full story. Tell me yours.
