This world

This world

A Poem by Sophles

i was tempted to plunge myself into that silent lake
to let the water wash away my troubles
sinking my calamities where no one could be effected
i was the author of unalterable evils
lived in daily fear of my own actions
my obscure feelings would not be missed
the weight of despair on my heart could not be removed
neither the thoughts of guilt on my mind

the people who's existence were bound to mine
could easily be undone through time
my life had begun with endless possibilities
but i was left with none of the abilities

you took both hope and fear from my soul
you made me lose my optimistic attitude
and drowned me in my own despair
you ran back to hell
and left me waiting for a return
but in the end
i was dragged down with you
committing sins of a hurt mind
though my heart is dead
my mind was destroyed by a particular bliss
a love that was lost
..... a love that was forgotten
a love that never existed?

now this moment, i shall weep bitterly
and fall angelically into the water
i shall kill myself alone
as i entered this destroying world

the world that deprives people of everything it promises
is not one i wish to live in
