If it was different

If it was different

A Poem by Sophles

If our life were a movie,
I would have met you at a train station in the rain,
Or at a friends dinner party in spring,
Or after sitting opposite you in a coffee shop,
Not in a car park after passing you a joint.

If our life were a movie,
Our first date would have been at a fancy restaurant,
Or watching a horror film at the cinema,
Or a picnic on the beach,
Not taking ecstasy In the bathroom of a club.

If our life were a movie,
Our first kiss would have been at midnight under the stars,
Or at a firework display at Christmas,
Or after almost losing each other to another,
Not after taking a line of MKAT on your birthday.

If our life were a movie,
I wouldn't have lost my phone.

If our life were a movie,
You wouldn't have took so much.

If our life were a movie,
The needle would have been clean.

If our life were a movie,
I would hand you the flowers and you'd kiss me on the cheek and arrange them into a vase,
I wouldn't be put them on your grave.

Author's Note

Sophles
This sounded a lot better in my head, when I wrote it down I actually don't really like this poem. But maybe I can come back to it if I get more ideas.
