Chemistry

Chemistry

A Poem by Melinda

What makes you so diff'rent?
Perhaps someone clever
could discover the secret
Buried deep between the ridges
Of your thumbprint.
Squinting with their nose press'd
to a magnifying glass
fogging the lense with their breath.
(You know the type-
Mouth agape,
bespectacled,
Chroncially curious-
No no, not at all like the rest of us).
Let science tell me
forensically
what I cannot see,
But could likley  be
an issue of D.N.A
(Perhaps something in your genes)
They may come up with something exact
To extract,
To pass through a filter,
into beakers
Over bunsen burners-
Some chemical information
To feed into their meters.
I'm too old  for magic,
and soul is hardly scientific-
So I've got to know
What grown up thing instead
Keeps you so interesting,
and me so interested.

About
Everything I told you about myself is terribly outdated. In my own defense I'm just lousy at keeping in touch. P.S. I love you (giggle) more..

Writing
Cold, Man. Cold, Man.
