Goodbye Again

Goodbye Again

A Poem by Melinda

I have no way to justify,
or give an answer as to why
I always will expect "goodbye"
when I've only just heard "hello"-
I've been afraid to hold on
to anything or anyone
that will shortly be as good as gone,
I'm used to letting go.

Someday you'll end up just a dream,
a credit on the movie screen,
I'll watch your back in the final scene
as you walk away-
But a part of you will linger on
Long after most of you is gone
In the lyrics of a song
I wish they wouldn't play.

Theres nothing I can do
To prolong my time in life with you
but I promise to see it through
until the very end-
In sane times I make my rules,
Vow never agian to play the fool
but a new "you" comes, and I lose my cool
and plan for "goodbye" again.

About
Everything I told you about myself is terribly outdated. In my own defense I'm just lousy at keeping in touch. P.S. I love you (giggle) more..

Writing
Cold, Man. Cold, Man.
