Four Black Fingers

Four Black Fingers

A Poem by Melinda

Four black fingers and I'm still in knots..
Four black fingers and I've learned nothing new..
I've spent three sticks of chalk - pink black and blue.
Not least of all black..
Doesnt it seem like black
Is in the highest demand?
It's the color everyone needs at the same time.
I spread out on one sheet of paper,
A large sheet of paper-
A woman in folds,
Her arm twisted behind her back,(blue)
Her knee pulled up to her chest,
Her breast tipped in a pink n****e,(Pink)-
She's resting pale against a stark sheet of paper (Black)
I thought she'd make me feel free-
But she was only a compulsion..
Stupid woman,
Useless woman,
Ugly woman,
What use are you to me,
OR anyone for that matter?
You've only left me with four black fingers,
And an ugly thing I've created,
Well, two things now.

I was just checking to see if you were reposting and got drawn into reading this because of the title which is very intriguing. I read throught it and thought what was that about?! There is a sort of tirade about the woman towards the end, which is animated and I liked the 'woman in folds' line...wondering if it had anything to do with you being in knots. I then read it again and thought, hmm, maybe I should read this literally...and you were struggling away at a live art class. How an I doing?

Everything I told you about myself is terribly outdated. In my own defense I'm just lousy at keeping in touch. P.S. I love you (giggle) more..

Cold, Man. Cold, Man.
