Skin

Skin

A Poem by Melinda

All I can do is fantasize-
See myself through my own eyes-
Slip into the skin that fits for now-
Such as
The Wounded,
The B***h,
The Cow.

Insulted and scared I slip out of my skin,
And store it away until I need it again,
And I will, for without a garment change
I would always be
bleeding,
or ugly,
or strange.

I do not intend to cheat, or decieve,
or feed you falsehoods to believe.
I only know not what I am,
it changes again,
and again,
and again.

What an intriquing write - I think this could be about most anything - more than socks for sure, much deeper than that. This line is outstanding:

'Insulted and scared I slip out of my skin,
And store it away until I need it again,'

Nice write. Very interesting.

About
Everything I told you about myself is terribly outdated. In my own defense I'm just lousy at keeping in touch. P.S. I love you (giggle) more..

Cold, Man. Cold, Man.
