Chaos

Chaos

A Poem by Tejana
"

Assignment based on the Pollock Number 12 painting. We were asked to write a poem based on how we interpret the painting.

"

Chaos rises beneath the ash of death;

It’s appalling glare taking away each breath.

Innocence undistinguished from all the rest;

No pardon was found marked on its crest.

Chaos rises beneath the ash of greed;

Corruption, the nature on which it feeds.

Exploiting those who remain defenceless;

Until there is no one left to oppress.

Chaos rises beneath the ash of anarchy;

Where adhering to principles is of no policy.

No consideration for those of the mass;

And jurisdiction is given to whoever be upper-class.

Chaos rises within all detrimental;

And when it strikes it won't be sentimental.

The contraction in the last sentence was due my habit of taking shortcuts and therefore it might not fit the poem entirely.
