The Aurii

Inspiration for the Aurii are drawn from the Roman People with spatter of fundamentalism and dark age dogmatism drawn from the Imperium of Man from Warhammer: 40,000 AD.

Shared Physical Attributes: The Auric People were named as the descendants and chosen race of Aurelius Aquila, Living God and Emperor of the Holy Aurum Imperium. They are a people of tall stature, slender build, and eyes like emeralds, sapphires, amethysts, and the rays of the sun. Their faces almost resemble that of an eagle, the aspect of Aurelius, which has thus spawned the term aquiline when a face is said to draw from an Auric Heritage. Phrenologists often attest the sharpness of their facial structure, instantly marking an Auric heritage when determined. Their skin are sun-licked of tone, indicative of a life spent in perpetual sunshine. Their eyes are vulnerable in the dark. Their hair is often cut short and closely cropped to the scalp. Jet black locks mark the Auric from out of a crowd.

Shared Inherent Psychologies: They are a proud race in both blood and culture; of piercing gaze, iron will, and with an eye for stiff competition among themselves and others. They tend to assert themselves in any situation or gathering, with the strongest of personality often leading the Aurii in both civil and martial service. They are stubborn in beliefs, especially their faith in the Living God, and unbending in loyalty to the Imperium. They lack patience for unbelievers, blasphemers, and heretics. They prefer to leave no prisoners in war and war is eternal. Their war is a war of souls, deeply fueled by the belief that they are harbingers of salvation against the machinations of the Dead God. They are as dogmatic as they are persevering, unmerciful in the face of those they deem heathens.

Shared Predilections in Talent: They love to win and excel, especially in the disciplines of war, combat, athleticism, architecture, oratory, debate, public administration, and mercantilism. They have a special affinity for arcane knowledge inspired by the Auric Pantheon which calls for a special kind of creativity tailored for poetic prayer, battle cries, and invocation.
