The Cards

There are, as you may very well know, three kinds of cards. Those that bless, bend, and then suggest. Three of which are meant to influence reality within the immediate vicinity of your wards through the use of your conduit. Let us set a very important limitation right here right now so that we understand each other for the long haul.

A clocklord's ability to bend reality is only as far reaching as the perceptive limits of a conduit. Thus, if your ward is not within perceivable grounds, then he or she cannot be the recepient of a beneficial or penalizing card.

With that done, let us move on to the cards themselves. It is already known that cards could be made of everything. Truth is, they are most often made up of rare metals. The rarer the metal, the more powerful a card could be. It may then look like any card, but it is a little thicker being that its insides is composed of a brilliantly set piece of clockwork. This is the mechanism that allows it to channel the Clocklord's power into concrete effects, clockwork mechanisms which influence the clockwork mechanisms of reality.

Now, the metals that are used to construct the cards are rare. They include silver, gold, and even platinum. Of course there are lesser constructs which offer lesser, more common reality bending which come at the compositions of copper, bronze, iron, and even steel. A Clocklord who earns the right to construct these cards are those who have been blessed the apprenticeship of an older Clocklord's. It is only through such that a Clocklord may ever know how to construct cards.

Sometimes, when the need is dire, a Clocklord may create alloys of the metallic raw material he has available to improvise whatever he could from what he has to try and meet what he needs. Many interesting and special abilities have been invented through such necesseties and even a legend of a card was said to have been born from such.
