![]() SeigfriedA Story by Teh_Az![]() Another exercise. This one surprised me. Another kid raised by monks.![]()
There was a light in which a young man ried to describe. He tried to describe it because he found it beautful. It was the kind of buesty that was still, and if not still, slow. It allowed dust and tiny articles of cloth fly about in laboriously slow manners, flowing up and down according to the wind that would pass and move on.
It was the kind of light that would usually come as a pillar from the holes of any roof. It was the kind of light that heaven granted upon those it wished to bless. The young man wanted God's blessings. He thought now that if he hurried to the light and bathed in it, every wrong he had ever done would be forgotten. Every mistake he had ever committed would be rubbed away as God's blessing proved it's ability to forgive him and every misstep. That much he hoped,. That much he thought for years was true. "Seigfried," a monk who took care of him then called. "Yes," his voice was still that of a boy. Years and years spent here in the care of this monastary had done that too him. The evil taint of the outside sstill could not corrupt his voice into the rough hewn certainty of a full grown man. The monks loved him for it. They were hoping it would steer him away from the calling of his Family, House Irmin. "What are you doing there child?" the monk asked as he motioned to take the boys arm and raise him up from his seat on the floor. "Playing with the light," he answered calmly, almost dissappointed, that he had to go. "How does one play with light?" the monk wondered as he continued to lead him away from it. "Simple," the boy answered with a certainty that only knew how to know, not realize,"You feel it on your skin and you bathe in it. It's like shaking God's hand and sitting on his lap, listening to him as he tells you stories." "Ah, such a child," the monk could almost cry, "Such a child, such a child. If only it were that easy to sit on the lap of God and bathe in his light forever." "It is quite easy. Just find his light and stay under it." © 2008 Teh_AzAuthor's Note
