How to kill an immortal

How to kill an immortal

A Poem by Alec Nguyen

An immortal is an unkillable man

He cannot age or die

He cannot be butchered or slain

To him alone, death is but a lie

And through eternities he may become a bane

He has lifetimes to be anything

From a ruler to a peasant

His subjects and fellows will dance and sing

For a short time, life will be pleasant

But eventually he will outlive them

As he has all before them

For he is immortal.

He alone will stand through the sands of time

He alone will stand through the winds of fate

He alone will be truly alone

For he is immortal.

Someone once asked me

How to kill an immortal one

I shook my head and said “That cannot be”

“An immortal will always be able to rise and see the sun.”

There is one way to kill an immortal, however

And that is to let him live forever.
