There is nothing more simple than the complexities of life. A statement made true by the contradiction of finding the fault in others we choose to ignore within ourselves...
Who am I to claim knowledge
on the essence of mAn? I'm a WomAn journeying to unearth the woMan I am. Yet, I bleed of HiS blood and I'm born of hIs bone, I breathe hiS spirit and live in HiS soul I am of hiM and by nature complex multiples of each otHer, divided by sex I am hiS strength and HiS strength is miNe still we tear down each oTher one brick at a time I once was a QuEen reigning strong with my KiNg Now hE deems me a b***h, a ho...nothing No longer regarded as a QueEn by hiS side reflections of a weak and hollow inside But again WE are lost in a lie WE believe that WE are not fruits of life but hate's poisonous seeds and WE sow these seeds rooted in self-hate cultivated in ignorance, producing oUr pain WE feast off this pain and feed it to OuR children though thEy hunger for substance tHey consume what is given OuR giRls cry with thEir bodies seeking affirmation of tHeir worth impregnated with no self-esteem procreating unwanted births OUr bOys spirits are constricted by a chokehold of sorrow, lost identities, and no hope for tomorrow SoNs of KiNgs degraded to N****s denouncing the throne embracing the trigger
ThEy're dying today by the hands of each otHer Vessels of promise promised to suffer
Committing suicide daily, WE kill ourSelveS WE are oUr own victims blaming someone else But I know there's light beyond this dark Before the flame first comes the spark So I search to find the pieces of me lost in the lies WE were taught to believe IN TRUTH, I AM HiS strength and hIS strength is MinE WE can rebuild oUrseLveS one brick at a time I would never claim knowledge on the perils of MaN I'm only a WoMaN on a journey to unearth the WoMan I AM
I began writing this piece when I found myself losing hope in society and fearing life for my children. You can't fault another for believing a lie if you are one of the people help making it true. You can't expect to save someone who doesn't know how to swim if your're drowning yourself. It was written more for reflection than reviews but I decided to share another layer of me anyway. Thanks

Amazing....but what I find more amazing is the fact that before me, only one person reviewed.
I am reminded of recent events, and the voices that followed.
"I Can't Breathe!" ...these t-shirts actually bother some people.
Never silence the necessary voice!

I've been having a hard time focusing to write and decided to revisit some of my previous work for inspiration. Glad to see you on my page (even if it was a year ago:))! Still searching for more sparks to ignite flames of productivity and peace for this world because these horrible clouds of hate and negativity are truly killing our light!

Thanks again
This needs published. Seriously. Asap. It's very very good and the world needs to hear it. I needed to hear it. I absolutely love it. One of the best I have seen so far. Blessings.
This piece seems speaks to Matthew 7:5- "You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye." It presents strife, but offers hope and ultimately seems to lay responsibility on our actions, rather than
circumstance. Thanks.
So I search to find
the pieces of me
lost in the lies
WE were taught to believe
strong imagery
strong words
stronger soul

This is something I have not seen before. Very unique. Unique rhyme scheme, unique structure, and the unique way of emphasizing certain words. Yes, some words are found in all caps while others have only one or two, maybe even 3 letters capitalized with the rest lowercase. Intentional or not, I like the change in that. It's not something you see everyday, ESPECIALLY not in poetry. You may just place with this poem in my contest! :) Continue with the wonderful, beautiful writing.

Yes the mix of capital letters was intentional, specific to the nouns and pronouns that pertain to those who I consider to make me who I am, making those who helped to mold and shape me all-inclusive to my journey. I figured arranging the letters in a unique pattern was a way to draw in the reader's attention while making my point more poignant. I do appreciate you taking notice of that. Thank you for taking the time to read my work and for your consideration of this piece.
I am with you I also wrote a piece about what our society has become and you put it together so well and with so much expression and concern. A lost society ruled by trivial, meaningless things. I am glad to find someone on here who sees through all the bs instead of falling in line. You are one of a kind don't change! I hope to see more from you!

I'm delirious (but can’t sleep) at 3 o'clock in the morning and decided to read over some of my previous pieces. Re-reading this piece allowed be to feel what I felt when I wrote it. So, I changed the title from "In Truth" to "WHO AM I...WHO I AM" because so many people in our society are losing themselves while still trying to find themselves, not realizing that we all create of pieces of ourselves and each other by our actions. Prejudice, acceptance, encouragement, acknowledgement, disrespect, intolerance all plays a part in who we become as a whole. Sometimes we hate ourselves because we allow other people to decide who we are, and their perception becomes the self-reflection we see. If everyone could just grasp the concept that tearing down each other does nothing but hurt ourselves in the end, maybe those trivial, meaningless things that manifests ignorance, discrimination, hatred, self-loathing, and genocide, would cease to exist. Sorry for babbling, but your comment came as a pleasant and unexpected surprise this early morning so I felt the need to leave more than a simple thank you...thank you:)
