World Of Lost Whispers

World Of Lost Whispers

A Poem by TheTeethInTheShadows

The wind blows dust around my feet,
Vines are growing ‘cross the streets,
Not one scream, plea, or cry,
Lost emotions from gaping eyes,
With all these hearts turning to stone,
I am left here, all alone

A once pure sky, now bloodstained red,
No speaking, shouting, nothing said,
The dead aren’t talking, but if they do,
They’d warn us, “Horror will ensue!”,
From flesh to blood to crumbling bone,
I am left here, all alone

No jet trails, fights, or commotion,
No vessels gliding ‘cross the ocean,
Forget the sight of golden shores,
Earth is a corpse forevermore,
And so my ashes, by the wind are blown,
I have left here, no more alone
