Chapter 1A Chapter by Eleanor
"I'm not sure anymore," she whispered under her breath, even though there was no one around to hear her. "I was but now I'm not."
It had been a year since her husband had been killed and still the murderer had not been found. Now she, Kathy Gilroy, was the leading suspect. It had been a month since she had been placed under house arrest and her pensive waiting for her innocence to be proved was driving her to insanity. Couldn't they see how bereaved she was over her beloved's death? The shiny white pearls her husband - who she affectionately called Stevie because he was always singing Stevie Wonder songs - had bought for their fifth wedding anniversary rattled loudly around Kathy's neck as she restlessly paced her living room. She had quickly found in her solitary confinement that their was only so much cleaning one could do in a day and that daytime television was a mixed bag of recycled shows and advertisements that drive the normal person crazy. She had read all her books and completed all her puzzles. Now she was just left with a mind full of anguish and absolutely nothing she could do about it. © 2017 Eleanor |
