Just Outside the Door & Over the Hill

    Just over the hill lay a world just waiting to be explored. She looked out the window and wondered, What could be out there? What wonders did it hold for her, if she simply stepped out the door and started walking?

 

    She had lived so long in just one place that she didn’t know how, quite, to go about doing it. Should she take things with her? Or simply walk out with nothing. No food, no extra clothes…no map? Should it simply be spontaneous or should she think through it? Should she plan it? But then, if she planned it- would she ever really go?

 

    She sat down and looked around. She didn’t think she ever really would. She spent so much time simply thinking about it that it didn’t seem like it would ever become a reality. And that scared her.

 

    Someday- someday she really wanted it to become true. To have an adventure. To go somewhere wonderful. Almost anything, but to simply remain as she was. Where she was. Who she was. She needed to become something else.
