Dragon seasons

Dragon seasons

A Poem by Teelacatgirl

Wrote this for a competition a few years ago!

"

Summer time is when we play,

us dragons of the world.

We fly, we swim, we run all day,

our wings wide and unfurled.

The summer sun feels oh, so good,

upon our scaly backs.

Instead of desperate hunt for food,

this is time to relax.

Autumn time is when we eat

the berries from the trees.

The mice, the rats, and squirrels

go down quite gracefully.

We have some fun in autumn leaves,

that are no longer green.

We help by shaking the lovely trees,

we don’t care if we are seen.

Winter is when we slumber,

in our burrow in the snow.

If we dig them deep enough,

they’ll keep us from the cold.

If you go up the mountain

when the snow is shining white,

you might hear a dragon

softly whispering, “good-night’.

In spring-time, when the sun comes out

and we can stretch our legs,

a nest inside the forest,

is where we lay our eggs.

When summer rolls around again,

our eggs hatch in the sun,

we’ll look back on the seasons,

that have again begun.
