Drift

Drift

A Poem by Terry Lee

Desparation controls your fear
Your screams echo silently
Within a padded sanctuary
My fading strength drips from your eyes
Bound within a mindless reality
The soul becomes faded and blurry
Light rushes through dust and pain
Shards of blame burst through severed hearts
While bridges burn and melt away
The sun is cold and unforgiving
As it rises above devastation
And life fades upon the wind
