I Just Kant

I Just Kant

A Poem by Ted Kniffen
"

Lightening it up

"

I Just Kant

I think I’ve lost my mind you know,

I really can’t believe it.

I set it aside for a mindless task

and now I can’t retrieve it.

I had it just this morning,

no, wait, perhaps last evening

I wouldn’t mind if it came back,

it could really use a cleaning.

It’s small and grey, quite unused

and really convoluted

I’m afraid that if it’s ever found

its memory will be looted.

I think I’ve lost my mind you know,

I don’t know where it went.

filled to the top with pennies for thoughts

by now its cash is spent.

It happens... it happens to me all the time... its like someone has a remote switch and it is tuned into my consciousness.... one minute I seem to be performing reasonably well .. or at least on track and the next .. I find myself trying to bury the body of a complete stranger in a corner of a forest and in the middle of the night.. now where did that come from eh... well that's my story and I'm stickin to it... Nice one Ted

Thanks for reading Dave, I appreciate it.
This was fun to read Ted and yet there is a serious side as well. I often find myself walking upstairs and when I've got there, wondering why the hell I bothered. By the time I've got there I've forgotten. I hope it is just being absent minded. We've all been there. Amusing to read.

like steven right says..."when i'm not in my right mind, my left mind gets pretty crowded"---
