Romance After 50

Romance After 50

One for fun

Romance After 50

My mind says yes

Your heart says no

My mind says come

Your heart says go

My mind is right

Your heart is wrong

My mind says sing

You know the song.

I say, my love,

You give me tingles

But the doctor says

It’s just the shingles.

I just read a longer, more serious poem about turning 40, so I was very much poised to find out what romance after 50 is like?!?! Your playful approach is perfect to describe my own experiences. I suppose I've grown WAY too cantankerous for romance at my age (61), perfectly illustrated by your short oppositional couplets! And I wouldn't wish shingles on anyone, but those tingles sure can mimic a variety of ailments! *wink! wink!* Love your funny ending (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

It is a fun poem, most enjoyable. One who is ready, the other hesitant, and the ending has great humour. Nicely done.

Haha. Inside jokes. I like it. oh, so much to look forward to. So shingles can accent the love tingles? does it do a lot of nerve damage? Anyway, nice write. **And please don't get the vaccination! I hear it just makes you more prone to repeat bouts.
